Bachelor of Arts in English and Secondary Education—Providence College Teaching Certifications – CT Grades 7-12, RI Grades 9-12 Master of Public Administration-University of Connecticut I had a full scholarship for grad school, partial for undergrad, and was in English and Education honor societies. I was Co-President of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars at Providence and VP of a College Success Mentoring Program

Experience

I taught English for grades 9, 10 and 11 including Honors, and remain currently certified to teach grades 7-12. I tutored students who were struggling and/or learning English, and very much enjoy the experience of working one-on-one, setting reasonable yet challenging goals based on individual needs. I help students to become resourceful and independent learners. I am a Cum Laude graduate of Providence College, a selective liberal arts university in Rhode Island, and am very familiar with the expectations of high-achieving students. I am an especially strong writer-- scored an 800 on my SAT Writing and was Editor-in-Chief of my high school news magazine. I taught in Connecticut, a state which prides itself on having some of the highest teaching standards in the nation.
